All Elecronics Corp. has this cooler with free shipping on all orders in the month of July if you place your order on their site. "This is for customers in the continental United States only. Sorry, does not apply to Alaska, Hawaii or outside the United States. Just enter the phrase FREESHIPPING (one word, no spaces) into Express Order as if it was a CAT# and a $5.00 freight credit will be applied to your order." It does not have a mounting bracket for specific processors but I don't think you can find these any place else anymore. http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-CF-75.html?E+scstore

I have a BH6. Will this give me trouble (size-wise) with either a SECC2 or FC-PGA+slocket P3 (I have a 650 SECC2 on order, but can change to a FC-PGA 700 is necessary)? Are Zip-ties good enough for mounting? What power connection does this come with?

This looks like a sweet cooler, but before I shell out $23 sight unseen I'd like to be sure it'll work with my setup.

If this is the same as the golden orb then it can be had for as little as $9.95 ( I think onvia.com) . 2Cooltek.com has it for $13.00 or $14.00.

This isn't the same as the golden orb. the Golden Orb (although still a good cooling device) is kinda a cheap knockoff of the Panaflo Orb, although actually based on a product by HP. I have no idea where the Panaflo Orb really originates from (probably the same background) but most reviewers agree that it performs better than the Golden Orb. Ian at 2cooltek has a comprehensive test of heatsinks at his website, although he admits that his results are a bit quirky. http://www.2cooltek.com/socket_test.html

[edit] if you're looking for the golden orb, I hear www.cpusforless.com usually has them for a good price with reasonable shipping

The Panaflo Orb (aka HP Polarlogic, aka Arctic Circle) is quite a good heatsink. It was the answer to my search for a GOOD heatsink to use with my Melcor peltier running at 5v (at 12v, the heat was way too much for any heatsink). Before I had this orb heatsink, I was using a Globalwin FAB28 with separate hot and cold plates to cooly my Slot 1 Celeron (barely got the job done). With the Panaflo orb heatsink, I was able to get rid of the hot plate since the heatsink has a decent thickness of metal already for the contact surface - the result was a very cool CPU... so cool that after moving home to humid NJ from school in upstate NY, condensation formed and dripped onto my GeForce *ZAP* I sold the heatsink already and got a Golden Orb. I'd prefer the Panaflo Orb over the Golden Orb, but there simply wasn't any convenient way of mounting it onto an FC-PGA processor. I was using 1/8" thread to tie the heatsink-peltier-coldplate-Celeron together, then twisting wire around the string to increase the tension. Also, I'd have to find some good insulation material before I tried using the peltier with the orb again :)

Anyway, the Golden Orb is a sufficient knockoff of the Panaflo Orb/HP heatsink unless you really need the extra capability. Keep in mind that you'll have to find a way to mount the Panaflo Orb.

(am I rambling yet? :p)
