Oh man I just got my order of 5 l1a's from casemod.com and I have to say that these things are GREAT. I'm using 3 as case fans, 1 on my slk-900 and 1 in my power supply. I have 4 of them hooked up to my rheobus and they're so quiet. Now, the loudest thing in my case is the stupid vantec iceberq on my northbridge. Thats how quiet it is. My old system included 3 smart fans and a tornado 92mm fan. That should give you guys an idea the contrast I'm hearing.

Yeah they are really nice/quiet fans, expensive sometimes though. How much did each one set you back?

They were about 3.50 each. My total order was only like $30 because I threw in some extra stuff.

damnit it pisses me off how expensive these fans are in UK compared to over there, cheapest 80mm L1A from an etailer ive seen is USD$15 . Papst are like £16/$25, each.. been given a link to some ebay page where L1A are a mere £4.50/$7 and papst £5.50/$8.90 but a tad reluctant to start posting cheques off to places like that, esp when theyre under half the price of everywhere else.

edit: not including shipping, which is a min of £3 for places that have varied shipping costs but more often is a flat £7+ fee.

...that is expensive, but they egenerally go for $8-$12 (I'm counting shipping) over here, which is why the Case-mod.com deal is nice. I got some of a bad batch when I got mine. Due to the excellent service I recieved (even refunded shipping back to them!), I think I'll give them another shot.

I recently received two L1A's from Case-Mods, and due to the reports about the "bad batch" posted both here and at other forums I tested them immediately. Both fans are whisper quiet!

I'm going to be using them as side intakes on my Compucase LX-6A19. Evidently Case-Mods has gotten rid of the problem batch, and I'd order from them again!

i feel your pain man! my wife is canadian so next time she went to visit her folks over summer i got her to bring back a couple for me! the canadians have as little choice price-wise as we do, but at least with their puny currency we get it for 1/2 price!

i got 2 with the connectors for £15

:D
