Check out the comparison here.

Quite interesting! It would seem to me that 1.2 MP's are favorable to 1.4's. Even if the 1.2's are not overclocked!

Cheers!

Well, the 8K7A/MP setup will be a second rig for me, so I could bench it against my current rig (1.2ghz@1.4ghz, KK266-R, 165FSB), and I could switch out the CPU's and try them both on each board. If my suspicions are correct, the performance difference between the cores would be less with SDRAM because the hardware prefetch won't be as benificial as it is with DDR. I will also be able to see if and how it works on a KT133A based board. I will keep you posted...

I saw a presentation of nForce from nVidia (AMD Techtour) and they did state some reasons why nForce would be a faster chipset than 760/kt133a and the like. A lot of it is because of the Dual Channel DDR found on the crush12 chipset. ALso, they also use HyT to connect the ICP and MCP. This connection yields higher throughput than standard mobo's offer. They also state that they built in some enhancements (dont remember the technical mambo jumbo) that gives an added boost. Anyway, I realize that this may all be marketing FUD but it would be an interesting thing to see...
