The following appeared in AMD's quarterly report released today:

Palomino processors feature an enhanced core and our proprietary PowerNow! technology, which dynamically adjusts the frequency and voltage of the processor based on the performance demands of the software, enabling a significant reduction in power consumption in mobile applications... Shipments have commenced for Mobile Palomino processors, which are due to be announced in May. The desktop Palomino version is due to be introduced next quarter at 1.533 GHz.
 
Hmm... Sounds just like what hte p4 does, and look at all hte heat intel got for that... Wonder if AMD will get ANY heat for this 😉

Well, as long as they are actually shipping respectable numbers to OEM's, the launch is legit. If they are just announcing it and not shipping in quantity (like Intel) then they will take some heat.
