I just got my Palm Vx, and wanted to xfer the contacts in my address book in Outlook 2K to my Palm. I was told to use the MS conduit upon installation of the desktop software, but it didn't say anything about that, only something about MS Outlook and mail configuration.

Thanks

the hotsync icon in your task manager will let you set the preference on what gets synced with what. this is if you installed the outlook conduit you should be able to sync with outlook without a problem. if you still have problems uninstall the palm software and try again. if you set it up wrong while installing it can make the whole process difficult- hope this helps

I uninstalled my Palm Desktop and Hotsync (they seem to be integrated). I then reinstalled Palm Desktop 3.0.3 and Hotsync 3.04. Still no signs of outlook conduit for address book, only for email.

anyone?

I'm not sure, but I don't think the Palm handhelds come with the conduit to sync outlook. It's called Pocket Mirror.

if you are installing this from the that came with the palm Vx, the pocket mirror program is on the disc (i too have a Vx). if you are downloading the software from palm's website, you will not get the outlook conduit. let me know which you are using.

The Vx that I got came with no software (the person I got it from lost it). So, I downloaded the Desktop and Hotsync software from the website. I have my brother's Palm V (not Vx) software CD with me also, but I wanted the latest software. I read on the palm website that I needed pocket mirror, but I would have to pay for that.

So, should I uninstall the desktop software, and install the one on the Palm V CD?

Also, is there anyway to restore my emails once I deleted them from my Palm? I was fooling around with it, and it was set to sync my email from Outlook 2000. I didn't want those msgs on my Palm at the time, so I deleted them from my palm. However, when I hotsynced, it also erased all my msgs from my outlook 2k.

Thanks

you can install the software from the palm V disk including the pocket mirror. when you sync you should be able to connect with outlook. after you have synced, then you can upgrade to the newest version from the palm website. as far as your emails, depending on how you had your palm set up, you have probably lost them. see if this works-

I took my bro's CD, and lo and behold it says Vx on it. I guess they have the same CD for the V and Vx. Anyways, I installed it, and it has the MS Outlook Conduit, Desktop 3.1 and Hotsync 3.1.

What is odd to me is that the software on the website is Desktop 3.0.3 and a Hotsync update to 3.0.4.

Thanks Guys.
