I have a Palm IIIx and was wondering if it is capable of synchronizing with MS Outlook instead of the Palm software it comes with? I'm used to using Outlook's address book, calender, etc. I've searched around for info but haven't come up with any just yet.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Sure, it can easily sync with Outlook. The Palm Desktop is not too good.

To sync with Outlook, you need to install the proper "conduit". Your Palm device should have come with a piece of software called "Chapura PocketMirror". Install that and follow the instructions and you should be in business in no time.

If for some reason you did not get PocketMirror with your Palm, you can buy it at the PocketMirror web site.

Check the CD that came with the palmIIIx - the chapura pocketmirror software should be located in F:\palmsfw\disk1\Pocket Mirror. You should have the option to use this conduit during the regular install of the palm software...

Did this conduit come with the Palm Professional, or only starting with the III?

You shouldn't have much trouble finding a copy on the web to "evaluate".

Then after you find out how useful it is, you can "buy" it.

If you indeed have a palm IIIx (or IIIxe) then you should have received the pocketmirror software with it, as this is a bundled feature for these models. Check again and if it wasn't included I would contact the vendor...
