I'd venture to say that they didn't have much market share in the US anyway. I can't honestly say that I've ever seen a Palit card for sale in any US retail store I've been in (Fry's/Best Buy/Circuit City/Tigerdirect/Etc.)

Were they even ever in the US market? Seems like all their cards I sale for sale were on eBay by Canadian sellers.

I bought a Palit Daytona Ti4200 back in the day at Best Buy. Haven't seen their products there in years though.

I'm pretty sure I've seen recent frog logo cards either at NewEgg or ZZF (or both). I wonder if this also means we won't be seeing Gainward coming to the US.

I remember seeing them on the egg when I was shopping for a new video card earlier this year. It's a shame seeing them go, I wonder how big they are overseas though.

You can buy them at Canadian online stores like NCIX...haven't seen them at B&M stores.

Wont me missed by me. I dislike companies with iffy support and warranty. It might not be the case elsewhere but it was in the US.

No surprise really, it looks as if Nvidia's price protection and listing restrictions worked here in driving them out. "Unauthorized" partners offer a chance for some much lower prices compared to the NA retailers, but I think a lot of people still choose the superior support and warranty of the big 3 of BFG, EVGA, and XFX even if it costs a little bit more.

I personally liked Palit back when they sold cards in the US under the Gainward label. They'd typically have higher clocked GS or non-reference parts sooner than anyone else. Gainward went EU/Asia exclusive a few years ago I guess and we got Bionic Frog and low availability instead. :( They had some pretty cool parts though, like non-reference 1GB G92 parts and highly-OC'd Sonic parts with better coolers, they were just really low availability.

Ya, although it looks like Palit got into the GPU AIC business after they acquired Gainward in 2005, which makes sense since that's when their label started popping up. But ya since then many of their product launches have been identical with a mirror non-ref part for both the Palit and Gainward brand.

There's a few other parent companies that sell AICs from both GPU vendors under different labels, like PC Partner = Sapphire for ATI and Zotac for Nvidia.

I have not heard that name in a while. Gainward golden sample (or something) was a really good card a few years ago. Did not know they were still around.

Boo!

They were the ones with the cheap as hell 8800gs at one time. Farewell Palit! I will always remember your incredibly short PCB on an 8600gt. It literally ended right at the PCI-E connector.
