Palestinians Burn US Flags

Keeping it closed is just fine for Israel, because Israel doesn't want a solution; the longer they can keep delaying, the more settlements their fundamentalist fanatics can build and more Palestinians they can drive off, starve or shoot. The U.S.-- despite the whining from Tel Aviv-- effectively facilitates this strategy. The Palestinians have realized that U.S.-led peace talks ultimately are theater designed to perpetuate the status quo. Going directly to the U.N., who generally supports them, is probably the smartest thing they could do. Of course, there is the possibility that, with Palestinian statehood, Israel could then retaliate against their new neighbor with maximum prejudice and impunity to settle the matter once and for all in their favor. Even if they didn't get attacked, they could put on some turbans and cook one up; they've done it before.

And, unfortunately, it all isn't restricted to a bunch of religious nuts in some scrub-brush halfway around the world. They of course threaten the rest of us, depending on who decided to get involved, and upon what Israel might decide to do with its 300+ nuclear weapons, depending on how threatened it felt. However, a region-wide conflict could be the best outcome for them. Israel would have the reasons (and the chaos) they needed for dealing with their neighbors and whomever they didn't care for within their borders.

A full-on WWIII is another scenario, of course-- one not without the possibility of Israel launching its nukes at everyone in a madman's final gesture.

Great news, the chance of Israel being forced to agree to a palestinian state went to zero.

That's odd since most Palestinians believe that if they wait long enough they will get the whole thing because of their rapidly increasing population.

Though the prices charged by the (monopoly) cable company to junior soldiers in the barracks for cable\internet are criminal. $120 a month for cable and internet for someone making $18k a year... Also they're not allowed to share the internet, that's stealing, and they can and have gotten in trouble for it.

No they don't. USNS Ships are commanded by the Merchant Marine. However they usually have Sailors and or Marines on board.

A real American produces and manufactures a slow, clean burning flag for export and markets it under the brand "Osama's Choice: Premium Protest Flags"
