Israel is not only the ancestral homeland of the Jews, but the spiritual one as well. Nothing is more important than one's god, if one actually believes in said god.

And one day their Messiah will come and unite the world and bring peace to humanity.

What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor- The Torah summed up, said by some guy standing on one leg.

Hillel was a very wise man...but the guy standing on one leg was listening and not speaking. :)

Y'shua altered Hillel's phrase from a passive one into an acitve one, but was basically the same. Most people know this version, which is do to others what you want done to you. Hillel's phrase limited it to not doing things you do not want done to you, while Y'shua included doing things that you want done to you.

Both were/are amazing people who gave the world a vast amount of wisdom. The world would be a better place if people followed that wisdom. :)

My spin??? Umm no.......
I would venture to say that all parties concerned knew ahead of time what the consequences of going ahead with the addition of the Palestinians to UNESCO.....
With that said if it is not the Palestinians fault......then who......

So all parties knew ahead of time, but only one party (the Palestinians) is at fault? Why is it not the fault of the 107 countries who voted to admit them?

The topic should read

Israel and US blackmail of a UN program starts to show effect ... If you want to play the monkey that does not see, very well, keep on covering your eye and deny liberty of a Palestenian State, you are making lots of friends by your threats and blackmailings.

As per forums rules, I thought that hate speech was remained banned in this forum?

Arabs/MuslimsPalestinians are uncivlised "serpents"?

An enabling step for high crimes including that of genocide is to dehumanise an entire people. The Germans attempted the very same upon Jews and Slavs with similar propoganda declaring them to be vermin and grounds for removal. Similar through to Rwandan Hutu rule chasticing Tutsis as cockroaches.

An accepted member again displaying an all too expected commonality of this society of AnandTech to that of Stormfront.

Is English not your first language?

UNESCO requires ALL members to abide by some simple rules, which the Palestinians do not abide by currently. Therefor the Palestinians will either have to start protecting Synagogues and STOP teaching their children that Jews are evil (it is in their textbooks) AND provide equal education to women or UNESCO will have to kick them out. Or, more likely, UNESCO will ignore its own rules.

It is all found in their constitution and charter:

Far more likely they'll just ignore their own rules.

What's the big deal? The USA clearly has a law on the books that UNESCO is well aware of but decided to ignore at their own peril. Time for a dose of reality.

It's part and parcel to the fact that the UN believes their philosophy, decisions and rules should trump US law and US Constitution. They probably figured we would ignore our own laws and side with the Holy UN.
