Just picked up an ABIT KG7-RAID mobo at CompGeeks as listed in "Hot Deals". :)
I have an Alpha PAL 8045 hsf. Does anyone know if it will fit on a KG7 ?

Very cool, I had exactly the same question. BTW, what fan are you using? I wanted to get the Papst to be really quiet. Let me know how it works out for you (i.e., if it actually fits....)

I originally used a Panaflo L1A, but it was a two wire fan w/o speed sensor.

Today I received a Vantec Stealth which has slightly more flow at same dB level.

This fan has a speed sensor and seems to be well built, but so are Panaflos. When I open the VIAhm it says the fan is running at 2570 rpm, but spec says it runns at 2050 rpm. The 5v supply is reading 5.03 so I am not sure why there's a speed difference.

Processor temp remain unchanged at 40 to 41 deg C.

Sound wise it seems slightly less, but probably the same.

I am using a Chieftech Matrix Case MX-01BD which has 4 case fans, where I am using all Panaflos L1A's. Considering all the fans the system is relative quiet, only a slight whirring.

mdcrab,

You might want to try the Enermax Clear Adjustable fan. It can be found HERE.

I just bought 3 more of them to replace all of my 80mm and 120mm case fans, let alone it also cools my CPU with the Alpha8045. KICKASS!!!
