Personally I think this is BS. Musharraf is the sole personality responsible for bringing Pakistan out of total failure. Now that he's left it looks like we are heading for doom. Many Pakistanis feel otherwise who think Musharraf is responsible for crimes against humanity.

On another note. Bush is immune for his crimes right?

It depends on what you mean by immune. Nobody is above the law in the US but Bush is effectively above the law because of the chaos that would result from trying to bring him to trial, in my opinion.

M was some good and some bad. Good brought down by bad isn't much good.

Don't make us laugh. The only reason why he's being brought up on charges is because, after all deal involving Zardari, Sharif Britain and America, the former senior judge was reinstated to his post. That judge has a hard-on for Mushariff and Zardari. This has little to do with democracy and a lot to do with backroom dealmakings.

I think it would be fairly hard to prove Bush actually comitted a war crime. It would have to be proved he actually personally sanctioned torture at gitmo or at POW camps in Iraq. I don't think simply invading a country counts as a crime even if it defies the UN. Personally, if you told me he had absolutely no idea what was going on, I'd believe you. Cheney would be a much easier target IMO.

Our democracy is better :p

The biggest problem is the level of control the military has over it - they could just depose the president and declare martial law at any time. At least the Americans don't have that particular problem. Of course many of Pakistan's issues are indirectly our fault so I can't really claim our democracy is all sweetness and light either.
