I was under the impression you were more reasonable than that ;) I don't know if its because you're so pissed off, which is understandable, but the more world support he US gets the better things go. Lets say that pakistan said "no you can't use our airspace". So then US planes use it anyway. In response Pakistan SAMs attack US planes. In response the US takes out sam sites. Great, now the US is in a war with a nuclear power. Thats why things have to be done by the book as much as possible!

<< We don't need any friggin permission to fly over any airspace. These countries know whats going on.What are they going to do, shoot rockets at us? Give me a break. This is a stall to mobilize our troops and equipment into place. If tomorrow we fly sorties over Iran to take out targets in Afganistan, what the hell do you think Iran is going to do? NOTHING> they will cry and bitch and if they dont like it,we can definettly get retribution for their Hostage taking and support for taliban and terrorist activities that are documented by our intelligence survelience.

In 7 days all hell is going to break loose in the middle east. Taliban is first target, and I can assure you there are secondary targets.

Not likely you will see our country play by a rule book. There are no rules in war, not this one. If the foe does not play by the rules, we don't either.

Suits me just fine.

Still think I'm a liberal?

Iran doesn't even support the Taliban.

<< What if this is all a setup? Could that be possible? I mean say yeah let our troops go in there, and then when they arrive after thats all said and done, BAM one big bomb dropped and a whole load of our troops, gone.

What do you think? >>

that would be incredibly stupid of them to do. Unless we send all of our troops out(which we wouldn't do) we would come in with a second wave and kick some ass...

What if the scenario is like this: get ground troops gathered together in Pakistan, and then bomb them... which the Pakistani government then denies that they did it, but rather terrorist radicals did it. And this happens several times... can the Pakistani government be blamed for this? Whether the government can be blamed or not, the troops would need to move out of Pakistan.

That would be a good strategy if you were going to oppose the US in the first place... pretend your their allies, learn as much information on their movements as possible (and possibly even set up attacks in disguise of being allies), then launch some attacks and claim they weren't official... not only do you get to strike first, but they might not retaliate if they believe you.

Iran doesn't even support the Taliban.

What have you been smoking?

This country was just attacked by a planned operation supported by fundamentalists under a variety of names all with a common purpose and that is to defeat the US and Isreal. They call it a Jihad(one of many names). I have heard this crap for more than a decade. Our Embassies have been bombed. They drug airmen bodies through the streets in Mogadeshu. They bombed the barracks of GIs in Africa. Hell, they even bombed the WTC. What more wake up call do you pansies need? For crying out loud, people, over 5000 souls are lost by these extremists just since tuesday and half of Manhatten and 1/3 of the pentagon has been ripped apart.

Those extremists live in the middle east. They are PLO extremists that bomb Isrealis, they are Iranians who take hostages (They gave them up when Reagan was elected). They live in Egypt,Iraq,Saudia Arabia,United Arab Emerits,Yeman,Iran,Pakistan And countless other places,Including the US.

Do you know who your neighbor is? Time to find out.

The U.S. military will not wait for permission to do what it thinks best. They will wait to shore up troops and supplies. They will listen to these countries and allow them to give these bastards up, but they will not wait forever. Neither will America.

Listen to what the media tells you. They are directed by the government to a large extent as to what they say and how it is said.( We are in a war footing.Media is strongly discouraged from giving anything that can be construed as giving aid or comfort to the enemy). They only tell you Bin Laden is A suspect. There are many suspects and terrorists on the lists. The list is global. They are snagging people in Germany and you can bet they are scouring every knook and cranny globally for anything suspecious.

I realize not all Muslums support this so called anti american attitude. But a damn site more do. Just remember the retorhic of Louis Farrakan and his anti semetic language. That is here in the US. That alone lends aid to the enemy.

When the bombs drop, and people die, alot of you will change your tune. This is reality. This isn't intellectual diatribe. We are going to war. In all its uglyness,we will invoke the blessings of God upon our effort. Our enemy will envoke the blessings of Allah. Do you think we are envoking our blessings from the same Diety? I think not.

Jihad? Yep, They may have called it right. Now we will see who will be the Victor.

Of note.......I have sons who are of draft age. I am a Viet Nam veteran. My father is a Viet Nam veteran and Korean war veteran, and my father in law is witness to the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima WW2. WE have seen war and are keenly aware of its affects.ALL OF THEM. Yes my emotions run high, because I fear you will all be lulled back into complacency by not dealing with the reality of the events that can control your destiny. It is time to stand up and be counted.

If you don't like it, leave Damocles. I don't recall the US asking Ausy permission for anything. We will understand if you want to hide behind your flag and claim neutrality. But during the the Viet Nam war,I was damn proud of the Ausies support. You must not have been around then.:disgust:

I'm a New Zealander, which is a completely different country. Like Australia we have helped in every major conflict and have offered help, as much as we can.

Don't give me that 'hide behind your flag BS

The US has gotten alot of bad intel over the past decade. Although at one point in the early 90's we had info of all the drug plantations in Columbia, but we decided to do nothing to them...

The U.S. military will not wait for permission to do what it thinks best.

Well tell that to the US diplomats who have been in talks since Tuesday with Pakistan? Obviously they think its important.

Iran's official stance is to condemn what happened. They are not an ally of Afghanistan and do not officially recognize the Taliban as rightful government.

Why would we want intel from Russia? Do you honestly think that Russia has better intel than the U.S.?

Yes, in this case they probably do. They were at war in Afganistan for a number of years, they will have info on the terrain and conditions that we may not. Afganistan is also on their border, I would say they would have more information.

This is not the US against the Muslims.

This is the US and all other civilized countries against terrorists.
