It's funny that the country (Indonesia) with the largest Muslim population acts nothing like Pakistan yet they are to be condemned by the actions of the few. The majority of the Muslims in Indonesia also are opposed to Sharia law. They allow the sale of alcohol and pork.

I find it funny how some in this thread have proven to be no better than those they hate so badly.
 
your faith is shit if you have to kill others who would raise questions which doubt it. they don't have faith, they have idiocy.
 
Lots of European countries have blasphemy laws, too. They're usually used to protect the godly status of the monarchs and their families. These kinds of things have no place in civilized societies.

Hopefully Pakistan and various European countries will modernize one day in the future.

Indonesia still has its issues with extremist militant groups, though. It's not always a big happy modern place.

I don't know why.

All hate of others is hate of the self. Since the feeling we all have is that we are the worst in the world, projection creates some real monsters out there.

Not many have the intellectual acuity and intentional honesty like you can see in nonlinear here, when looking at these kinds of things, not to fall into this reactive trap. For most, anything that disturbs their sleep is felt as a threat.

One of the reason is that self hate in a group tends toward the vigilante cathartic. Emotionally dead people feel an need to be alive and jump at any chance to go crazy.

We have nut case in Canada that want to separate the country. We have nut case American that still are hanging on to the Confederate society and the KKK believe. We have Protestant and Christian killing each others in Ireland. I can give you more example you need it.

Don't be a redneck asshat and condemn everyone in third world countries, because you are happen to be born in a wealthy country and never have to struggle to put foods on the table. Even your pet dogs & cats have better lives than hundred of millions if not billions of people on this planet. Pakistan is among some of the poorest countries in the world with 30% of the population with out access to electricity, literacy rate is 44% of population, and 30% of the population are living below the poverty level by the WHO (income less than $1,25 a day that provide food/shelter/clothing/education/medicine for their family, less than $456 a year).

I have been to Indonesia and Malaysia (Muslim countries) and they are no where the savage that you and your buddies described. In fact much of the population in larger cities read/write/speaks English as a second language which is much more than I can say for redneck American.

IMHO, Redneck = Zionist = extremist Muslim = salvages

Instead of feeling sorry these unfortunate people, and be thankful for being born in a wealthy county. The aholes that never have to worry where there next meal going to be spends their time judges people who has to struggle for every breath they take.

This is why I suspect that Pakistan under Christianity would be much the same, Old Testament having many of the same barbarian prescriptions. And also why I have some hope that Islam might yet achieve a moderation. However, for that to happen, either the current interpretation of the Koran's contradictions (Muhammad being without flaw, Allah obviously changed his mind; even G-d couldn't predict those darn Jews wouldn't convert!) so that the touchy-feel early Koran prevails over the evil, head-detaching, non-Muslim-killing, child-fucking later parts of the Koran, or the majority of Muslims have to ignore the bad parts. When and where Muslims can ignore the less evil parts of the Koran and Sharia in favor of modern Western (or far Eastern) mores, there is hope. I don't have a LOT of hope though, as that doesn't seem to be the way Islam is going.

I agree on your first statement. I disagree with the second. In my opinion, we see Islam as being fucked up because Muslims tend to be more religious than Christians. As a result, the extremists are even more extreme, and so you get people that take the Qua'ran in a completely literal way, and actually act on what it says to do.

It's been a place of civil warfare for a few decades and since the LTTE was forced to lay down their weapons they still continue with diminished force.

It's a shithole at the very best and that's only if you are visiting at the right time when it's calm and in the right place.

In the UK, those who do the honor killings and acid attacks against women are mostly Indians, second is Kurdish tribal religious immigrants, a distant third are Muslims who are Kurds.
