After a long time off from designing I have decided to get back into it. I went from 3d to web design, and I'm now incorporating both of them. Today I am proud to announce the launch of PairedCreative and I'd like to hear what you guys think. Critique anything you like from design to prices. I hope you all like it and wish me luck.

Not too bad. You need more content in the portfolio section, but that'll come.

Need an intern, oh say, this time next year? :p

Agreed. I was looking for something to complain about, but I couldn't find anything. Maybe it's too late right now, and I am not trying hard enough :p

Seriously, though, very nice. I appreciate streamlined, intuitive, elegant, and minimalist designs. Hit the mark 100%, even with the logo and name.

EDIT: Haha, just checked out ineedcurrency in the portfolio.

EDIT 2: OK, one thing that may just be my own stupidity. Is the earmark on img-banner.gif supposed to be a function, or is it just part of the design? Because something makes me want to click on it (probably my conditioning from stupid flash ads). Again, this might just be me being stupid.

Thanks everyone for the support :) Me and my partner are still working on it at this point. Updating our portfolio, fixing little details in the logo and main page. I really appreciate the feedback.

I have a very small suggestion. I think emphasizing the word "EXPAND" in some way (maybe a stylized upward arrow? different color? spaced out letters as if it were expanding?), as it might have a stronger psychological impact. Just my personal preference, don't know if it would actually help.

And thank you, thank you, thank you for not using flash on your front page.

I say make it glow slightly, compared to the other words. Subtle but eye catching.

That might work too :) Or a thin outline, and/or possibly a (long?) drop shadow.

And before I forget, do you guys offer an AnandTech discount? :D

OK, last suggestion, I promise. Why not use the word "Grow" instead of expand? It has a slightly more positive connotation, and would appeal probably to small to medium business owners than the word "expand". Expand sounds suited for an empire, or waist size. Plus, you do have a (very beautiful) pear tree right next to the text on the left. It's making me hungry for a crisp and juicy pear, and I almost expect to see a cute partridge sitting at the edge of the pot, lol (get it? partridge in a pear tree? i kill myself).

Yes, I am filled with a lot of psychological b.s. tonight. Anyways, good night and good luck with the site :)

Thanks guys. If you look closely, the "expand" letters are already spaced out a little more. I just modified some more things, and am working on getting the content up. I appreciate all the suggestions.

That sounds like a good idea. We actually thought of that first, but somehow ended up going with the expand version. We just made some changes to that green part on the main screen, and we'll probably put "grow" instead of expand. Thank you!

Cool  OK, one more thing (I know, I know, I'm a liar). You probably know this already, and it may be even intentional, but the line separating bannerbottom from the top is "cutting" through the pear tree. IS the pear tree supposed to be in front or behind the line?

OK, for real this time, no more nitpicking from me.

Also, if you guys need any SEO research done, or just some suggestions, let me know. I'm not an expert or even educated in the field or anything (I'm pre-med, for goodness sake), but for some reason I like helping people with website stuff.

The site and design both look really nice. Not sure if you do this already but you might want to offer some sort of web hosting/domain buying service for your clients. Really easy way to make some extra $ and gets rid of some hassle for less technically inclined individuals.

On your INeedCurrency description, you mention XHTML/CSS for the backend. XHTML/CSS tend to be considered the "front-end" as it is what the customer/client/user is directly looking at. A "back-end" is usually what's actually making the website work, such as php, asp, MySQL dbs and so on.

Looks even more complete and professional now :)

I don't get why "img-service-3d.jpg" is an armchair, though. I think either a 3d shaded image of the word "3D" (perhaps "3" in one color and large, "D" in another and smaller), or a 3D static image or animation of a pear (in keeping with the theme) would probably work better. Even if the La-Z-Boy is rendered, most clients won't associate that image with the concept of 3D.

Good idea. A full design, coding, and hosting solution appeals to a lot of people, and offering it would be advantageous. You don't even need to offer hosting yourselves; you can use a 3rd party or resell hosting from a dedicated server (at profit, of course). And Domain registering is easy enough through a registrar.

Btw, your art portfolio is nice. You should definitely include some of that work as examples in your "custom 3D work" service option.

Thanks. And thanks for all the replies. We fixed up some more things to it, like the thumbnails and descriptions. The hosting is a good idea, we should add that. I'm waiting to post my 3d work up in the portfolio still. I really appreciate all the support & feedback.
