Take a look at these "paintings" and tell me if you think they look anything like a real painting. Then tell me specifically how you think they were actually made. Hint: not Photoshop

fish
Stonehenge
blend

Update: They were painted by me not converted with a tool.
Update2: They were done in Microsoft Ink Art on a tablet PC. Guess they look sort of real.

Yeah I'm gonna guess Artrage (Blend looks like the unintuitive artrage brush motions) but it coulda been Painter too.

Kinda look real but they don't have the brushstrokes/texture a real one would have. Lighter colors would make them look more like watercolor and more realistic.

Why do these all look like old windows stock desktop wallpapers? I'm gonna guess some photo -> pastel thing?

Alright well I was just curious what you guys thought they looked like. They were actually made using Microsoft's Ink Art on a tablet PC.

You mislead us. They way you were talking, I thought you painted them on an actual physical medium like a canvas, not digitally.

Microsoft and the word art should never be used together in a sentence. Except one telling you they should never be used together.

I think putting "paintings" in quotes and asking if they looked anything like a real one was enough hint that they were not real. ;)

Haha oops, misinterpretation. Painted by hand with the mouse I meant, as opposed to using a tool to convert a picture to a paint-like picture, as the previous poster had suggested.

But I guess the general consensus is that these look good enough to be real.

Why? Ink Art's a really good program, it let me produce what you see above.
