Well i want to paint my DVD drive by i dont like the shape of the metal casing. I was thinking takins spackle and covering the whole thing so that it is all flat. Can this harm anything about the driver? i am going for a all black with blue lights in my case with the UV color o f my board that is it. so does this seem like something that can be done?

Edit: of course sealing off all electrionic equip and plugs. then sanding smooth and flat
