Hello there Guys, I finally got my new Case Yesterday The Coolermaster Cosmos S and I am happy with my choice. I took lots of pictures, but I need to do some paint job. The Side Panel are looking good, but that grey color on the borders, me don't like. I haven't decided to paint the inside yet. But I need help from you guys because in the past, I did bad jobs when it comes to PC Case and Paint.

I am loooking for a Glossy Black Paint. Can you guys recommend me what type of paint I need and where I can get it. Are there any steps involved when it comes to painting my case. I live in California and I have Home Depot, OSH, ACE Hardware and Lowes near my house.

Thank You!

Look for spray cans with a wide nozzle tip. I believe Duplicolor makes some, and it should be advertised right on the can.

If the surface is already painted or glossy in any way, you'll need to scuff it up with some fine-grit sandpaper. Make sure to mask areas of the case that are not getting painted using several layers of masking or painter's tape, then grab the some sandpaper and go to town. Something around 600-800 grit will do, or 1000-2000 if you have patience and want less scuffs. After that, I'd rub the scuffed area hard with a microfiber cloth to pick up any remaining dust and smooth out the scuff edges. Next, use primer, and then finally paint.

When you do paint, you always want to start spraying several inches away from the surface you intend to paint, and slowly and steadily move onto it - that way you don't get a huge runny blotch where the painting began. As you move onto the surface, continue with a slow and steady motion, evenly distributing the paint. You'll need to cover the surface adequately without building up too much and letting it run. Remember that it's easier to cover an area that didn't get enough paint with a second coat than it is to deal with dripping.

It's best to practice on a piece of scrap before you do the real thing.

That looks like plastic and that makes it a bit more tricky to paint.
Without knowing the type of plastic it is you need to test in an out of the way place any paint before you use it. Some paints will dissolve plastic and others will warp them . The other thing is getting it to stick properly.

Personally I wouldn't use paint in your situation. Instead get some adhesive plastic sheet or tape. You can get it in any color and many patterns like steel plate. Then just cut it how you want and apply, make a mistake you can peel it off.

Pin striping tape used for auto detailing would work well.

For painting plastic parts I use vinyl dye. It's extremely easy to use.

My silver NEC ND-3540A DVD burner recently died and I replaced it with a black Samsung burner. Vinyl dyed it silver to match my silver Lian Li case. I could not find a new silver bezel DVD burner.

I've tried Duplicolor, Plastikote, and Rustoleum vinyl dyes. Duplicolor is the best. It gives a nice even color finish. You can find it at Advance Auto. Plastikote is also excellent, but hard to find. Stay clear of Rustoleum. It gave very uneven color results.

Here's a good guide on how to use vinyl dye. It's old but still useful.

Not to be mean or anything but you know that me don't like is incorrect?
It would be I don't like just letting you know that.
