Sunday night, started typing grad work at 5pm. At midnight, all was fine. By 3am, the pain was unbearable. Elbow is red, swollen, and hot

Monday: tried to make it through the day; went to the equivalent of an ER (urgent care) since my Dr's hours were over. Swelling is increasing and I can't bend it.
(and, right now, typing is a pita.)
Major shot of penicillin for the infection... antibiotics, pain killers...

Wife (RN) insists it's some sort of bursitis (I can't remember what she called it.)

Follow-up with my own Dr. today.. Broken (I didn't see it on the x-ray. He figured it out because there's a hunk of something moving around that shouldn't be moving around. That felt... <wonderful> as he manipulated my elbow (sarcasm))

*sigh* off to the orthopedist tomorrow. First time I've used sick time. I wish they could have scheduled it for late afternoon. :)

Anyone know what they do for a broken elbow? Just a small piece is cracked off the corner (or something like that)
I haven't got a clue how I did it!

I recently broke my elbow - a radial head fracture.

Not sure you exact type of fracture.

Treatment for my elbow consisted mainly of splint and sling for the first week. Sling for the next week, after that sling as needed. Ice daily.

You should get Dit Da Jow. We used it in my kung fu classes, it's really helpful for healing and it will definitely make things better for you.

Wow, it wasn't broken...

My doc was wrong. Not only was it bursitis, but it was also an infected bursa with staph that's resistant to 2 types of antibiotics that I had been given. So, new antibiotic, and hopefully I'm better soon :)
