Paid using PayPal

I paid for something online using PayPal and the transaction went thru. Now the vendor says they would like to have a scanned image of my credit card and photo ID to verify I am who I say I am. They did say I should block out all but the last 4 numbers of the CC and I could do the same for my ID.

First time I've ever had this type of request when doing online business. Is this bad juju?

can see why they might want you to do tht since fraud is so easy with Paypal
but seems a bit unreasonable, if they are untrusting of their paypal buyers they probably shouldnt accept it as a method
if its a reputable vendor and you cant find it elsewhere for similar price i guess i'd do it

Did they make this clear to you before you made the Paypal payment? If possible, take your business elsewhere.

I despise vendors who ask me to scan and copy my CC/ID. A few years ago, I was buying something from CDW when this happened. They wanted me to send them a copy of my credit card and photo ID. I called back and told them to fuck off, then paid $5 more and got the same item from Newegg.

If you paid via paypal, they have no reason to see your card as paypal already has access to it. Paypal will charge the CC company and send the $ to the vendor.
