Pageplus question

I currently use pageplus with prepaid minutes, no data (have it turned off on their end) and use a Droid X2 (which I pretty much hate).

If I don't use data, does 4g matter at all? Can I still use a 4g phone (voice only) with them even though they only offered 3g??

I see they now offer 4g service so it's less an issue now but would I still need to get one of their sim cards to use a 4g phone?

They only allow you to use 4G phones on certain plans. I assume if you have data disabled, then you don't have a qualifying plan.

I think you need at least the $30/month plan.

If you want to use a Verizon 4g phone unmodified, you must have the TNT1200 plan or above. Pop a SIM in it, have it programmed, and you are good to go. If you want to use a 4g phone without data, such as on the $12 plan or minutes plan, then it must be flashed. It is capable of data, but only at 3g.
