Pagemaker Gossip?

My wife uses Pagemaker in her business, and I have come to the conclusion (reluctantly) that she needs to update from version 6.5. Looks like 7.0.2 is the current version.

Has anyone heard any grumblings that Adobe will be releasing a new version anytime soon. I don't want to upgrade her and then have the version change two weeks later!

Since version 2.0, InDesign has been a really nice product. I would definitely recommend moving to InDesign over upgrading to PM7. Be advised, InDesign is more resource intensive than PM. Given the same hardware, it will probably run slower.

You can download a 30 day tryout of InDesign CS from Adobe's web site. It is a great way to see how it will run on your hardware.

Thanks all.

I downloaded the PM 7.0 a week or so to make sure it fixed her problem. I'll do the same with InDesign the same way. She does newsletters for some of her clients, so her use is limited. But it sounds like a good upgrade for her. Especially since everything she does also gets converted to pdf files, and InDesign seems to do that seamlessly.

Of course, one factor may be if any of the area printers can accept InDesign files.
