Pagefile not showing in WINEXPLR

I did a clean reinstall of XP Home the other night, got everything reinstalled, and decided to try a few things I've read about. One thing I did was moved the pagefile to my storage drive (then deleted from OS drive). The funny thing is that now the pagefile isn't showing in Windows Explorer. It was the other day when I moved it. So, is it necessary for pagefile to be showing in Win Expl? It is showing when I open the drive. Thanks.

Not sure why it would show before and not now, but check Windows Explorer's settings to make sure hidden files are set to display.

Windows Explorer --> Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Show Hidden Files and Folders, UNCHECK Hide File extensions for known file types, UNCHECK Hide Protected Operating System Files.

I would imagine this were just a view settings issue since you're getting no errors from XP about low virtual memory or inadequately sized page file.

One of the first things I set after a reinstall is hidden files/folders. Just checked-- they're still set to show all. Hide file extensions is something I've never paid attention to, but I set it your way. No difference. I can't find anything in "view" that I can think of that might cause this. Pagefile shows as a folder when I open the HD, but not in Explorer???? I just ran a search for "pagefile" and it found it: E: pagefile.sys The reason this bothers me is that I've done nothing at all intensive on the computer since moving the pagefile, so I wouldn't have expected any error msgs. I really would rather not get them when I start back to recording/processing/ burning my vinyl.

EDIT: Accidently bumped my head on a cabinet door just now, which made me realize I had not previosly checked Task Manager. Anyway, I now know the pagefile is being used (usage figures are changing). Another XP mystery that may someday reveal itself (or not).
