Since we can't get rid of the menu's down the left side, at least can we make them more usable? I'm using Mozilla at 1280x1024, and the left menu items only show the first 12 characters or so. Can't we make them a little longer and decrease the area where the thread titles are, or if in a message, where the message body is? They're a little too wide anyway, at least with my configuration.
 
If they took out the damn "..." after each of the "longer" forum titles, they wouldn't need to be long anyways. I'm getting ~20 characters on the left @1280x512(?). They look dumb (... takes up 2 more characters than e), but I can see enough. With all of the other space issues due to the fusetalk code, I'd be hesitant to mess with it right now...
 
What woudl be really cool is if they were position:fixed, so they stayed as you scrolled. Of course, I don't see ads, so maybe with ads the whole thing is taller than a screen? If not, I see no reason not to have it be fixed. Even cooler: fixed, and collapsible horizontally so you can reclaim the screen space if you want it.
