Not really once you decide that you don't have to believe, you stop caring. I don't mind people having religious beliefs, because I'm not a fanatic atheist. 🙂

We've never actually talked much about religion in my family since it doesn't play any role in our everyday life.
 
It usually is in Civ4. Diplomacy is so much easier when most of the world doesn't hate you for being under a heathen religion unless one of the zealots get most of the world under 1 religion.

Religion is a useful social control to fool the masses that there is something better waiting for them after their short and shitty existence on earth.
