Packaging delima

I want to sell an old AXP motherboard but I no longer have the anti static bag or cardboard divider that originally came with the box.

THIS is literally all i've got to work with. Anyone have experience with shipping things like this out? I need an expert

How unprofessional would it be to ship without an anti static bag? I have tons of expansion card sized bags but no mobo sized bags

edit: can anything around the house double as an anti static bag? lol

Go by a local computer store and see if they have any extras.

Shipping without it probably won't hurt it. But you'll need some padding to use inside the box and not styrofoam as that can generate static electricity.

In my experience, people would rather you not ship until you get the anti-static bag. I have given people the option of me shipping with improper packaging or waiting a day and having it shipped properly, and they always choose to wait.

The inside of the mobo box just needs some padding so the contents arent bouncing up and down during transit, any reccomendations on material to pad the inside with?

Packing foam that looks like an egg carton or large bubble bubble-wrap.

bubble wrap would work, but not all wraps are created equal. Some generate static.

You could wrap the mobo with paper (say, brown wrapping paper) to make it anti-static. Other than that, put all the extra goodies in a ziplock bag, so they're not bouncing around in the box, and put them under the mobo. Once you've wrapped the board in paper, it's not going to be affected by static, so bubblewrap is okay. Then I'd suggest overpacking the mobo box in a larger box, with bubblewrap or styrofoam peanuts around it.

I've had a mobo shipped in a box just big enough for the product box to fit into, and it survived.......but it did get banged up a little.
