Who would win - a pack of 10 male, full grown, gorillas, versus a single full grown african lion?

The arena area consists of a 50 foot diameter steel cage, with bars that are 1 1/2" thick, cage is 30 feet high, and bars are roughly 6 inches apart. The arena floor consists of packed dirt, generally dry, interspersed with a few trees that are 25 feet tall (oak saplings).

The gorillas are all in their prime age, without any physical blemishes, as is the african lion. No outside interference is allowed (no fire hoses, people yelling, etc.). The fight starts off with the 10 gorillas being raised into the arena via a floor platform, in a cage, which then drops once the platform is fully raised. The lion is likewise raised into a similar cage, 25 feet away from the cage where the gorillas were raised in.

The gorillas are all part of the same pack, therefore already have an established hierarchy with an alpha male as their leader.

Draw. The gorillas would climb the walls of the cage and the trees. They're too smart to take on the lion directly.

Aren't gorillas pretty fvcking beastly to begin with? I would suspect 2 or 3 could handle a lion, nevermind 10.

One gorilla weighs 550 lbs. One lion weighs about 300 on average. I think Gorilla's would gangbang this poor helpless lion.

It all depends on fear. If gorillas have a fear of lions then forget it, they will panic and be easy pickings. If they do not have a fear of lions, then the lion can kiss it's ass goodbye

Fear is a powerful force. If you've seen the shows for example where a small cheetah or lioness hunts after a young wilderbeast amongst a herd of thousands of them they all run away from her in panic and the young gets killed. If they didnt fear her and just charged her especially in a concerted effort they would own the day.

A lion would probably not attack even one, full grown gorilla, so I'm guessing it'd be a draw.

i think the other 5 gorillas jump out to ambush and finish off the lion after he's taken on the first 5

this, gorillas are bigger, smarter and more aggressive in a pack than the lion.

Alright how about the same condition, except it's two gorillas versus one lion?

The OP has to be the dumbest son of a bitch alive for posting such a asinine question. The lion would be dead inside two minutes.

One of the groups of 5 gorillas would stand near the monolith and it would happen to learn weapons techniques. This group of 5 gorillas would kill one of the other gorillas with weapons. Then, they would train their pet lion to use for hunting the other 4 enemy gorillas.

Lions suffocate their prey in a pack, 1 or 2 gorillas might get a mauling but the numbers would win out.
