Pacific Rim

Watched it on Saturday. For a movie about robots fighting monsters it sure was fucking boring.

KT

i didn't mind it. i enjoyed it for what it was. giant robots fighting giant monsters.

only thing i didn't like was that it took 2 to run the robot.

It was great until I read a website afterwards that said it was dumb because it would be easier to kill the monsters with a railgun from space than fight them....

or gargamel could have put a magic spell on them.

or possibly gandolf the white wizard could have came storming in on horses and killed them all.

man think of all the possibilities.

Watched it this weekend. It was a pretty stupid movie, completely non-sensical in almost all respects.

They just sit around punching monsters. Wow, great job, then after everybody gets their asses kicked we finally bring out the huge sword chainsaw that can kill the monsters pretty easily.

The usage of "tactics" was laughable. Then the whole ripping the head off of the jaegers. So you have all of this experience fighting these things and you can't even put the cockpit in the torso and protect the pilots more?

As noted in the other thread, the sword was a later design.

Yeah we'll just put the cockpit right next to the nuclear engine. In fact, we can put them in the same room.

Nuclear engineers can be pretty close to a reactor and not get much radiation. How big do you think a submarine is? Smaller than that freighter they were using as a bat.

I still don't understand why they had to build giant robots instead of making a bunch of tanks that can mount the super chest missile stuff that they were shooting as the ultimate weapon. Or make tanks out of the same stuff that freighter was made out of.

Yes and this movie is entirely based in reality where the writers did their best to stay true to the natural laws and realistic portrayal of storytelling.

it was a cool movie, I actually bought the 3D blu-ray combo pac when it was on sale. The dumbest thing was walking on the elliptical machine thingy to make the robots walk.
seriously, that's the best you can come up with in ~2020?
