Pacific Digital (lite-on) 12x10x32x with Burnproof $69 after MIR and PM

Went to the local sam's club... got the pacific digital 12x cdrw drive (with Burnproof) for $99.98, then went to circuit city with my sams club receipt... Circuit City pricematched the $99.98 and they have a $30 Mail in rebate...bring the price down to $69.98 + tax after rebate... then went and returned the second 12x... Great deal... used it 3 times already, super fast, and clone cd works like a charm!! If you need a copy of my circuit city receipt email me...

Thanks

Thanks!

Do you need a 'membership' to shop at Sam's Club?
I have some of those discount Walmart GCs that are burning a hole in my pocket!

I believe you do have to have a membership... mine expired today actually :-(

Hey Microstar..

Do you have the scan of the receipt of either Sams or Circuit city?

Thanks.

A membership is needed to get the drive for $99.##. However, Sam's Club offers a one-day shopping pass where you can purchase items for an additional 5%, so the burner should run you $105 + tax.

Since when do retailers price match wholesale clubs?
This is the first excuse they use not to have to match costco or sams...

Scored!!! :)

At first the CC person said she don't know if she can PM it, but after fiddling with the cashier for a while, she looked at me and said, "that will be $104." (damn tax...) :)

$104 - $30 MIR = $74 for a 12x burner is unbelievable!!! :)

Thanks for the heads up Microstar!

Teac and Cendyne Sucks!!!

I got the one from CompUSA for $129 after rebate.. 16X10X40.
The drive dares to tell me that my CDRW disc is unerasable and
unwritable... Put the disc back to my Yamaha 4x2x6 and it writes and erases
it with no complaint.
so I had to return them right away...

I guess some CDRW drives are more sensitive to media than others. I've heard good things about Lite-on drives though. Very good for this price. :)

From www.circuitcity.com:
Do you beat the prices in membership warehouses and military PXs or catalogs?
We will match any advertised price from a local store stocking the same new item, available for sale with a manufacturer's warranty and in a factory-sealed box including warehouse clubs (Sam's, Price/Costco, BJ's etc.) since they are legitimate retailers.

I'm out to go weasel my way into one of these now. I don't have a receipt from Sam's, but I'll try asking employees to call my local Sam's up and get a price over the phone. If all else fails, maybe I'll drive to Sam's and grab one.

Tried to do this very thing last weekend. They told me that they only match "advertised prices" and since the Sam's price is everyday, they wouldn't match it.:|

That is F-ing rediculous!!!

Other might have better luck though. Like a lot of pm's, it depends on who you deal with. As they say, "If at first you don't succed....."

Anyway, deal still good, today's the last day.

But it is advertised. Check out www.samsclub.com, where they "advertise" it for $99.98. That's absurd, "Since it's not on sale we won't PM it." Print it out, ask for a manager, jump up on down screaming.

Circuit city won't PM this. They said it has to be an Advertised price.

I sniveled at the store and even called the 877 number, no luck.

I guess they're PM policy changed recently.
