This thread is so full of win. It's considered "controversial" to tell people how to stay safe.

Maybe PA should also get rid of those edgy signs saying I should wear a seat belt. I didn't want to be ejected from the car as it spun around, but physics couldn't say no.

Are you trolling or being serious? Just asking before I put any energy into the reply.
I, too, would love to see you explain the criminal dress code. Unless you are talking about ski masks, in which case, carry on.

It's easy. Get microsoft sam to read the following paragraph so you can follow it with your eyes closed:

Police are called out to an incident at the intersection of Rosa Parks Street and MLK Jr Avenue. A simple fender bender accident has turned into a violent showdown between Tyrone Smith and Darrel Johnson after one said the other had "cheap shoes."

Without being told what the two characters look like, can you guess what their clothes look like?

I wish the women activists groups would see the intent with this ad, and if they feel the message is too accusitory, then maybe they could suggest how to get the same message accross in a victim centered approach.

There is no way that they could work it that would make the feminists happy. I think the current wording is pretty good considering that they are trying to appeal to a mass market. This is just one of those things that political correctness has made it impossible to have an honest rational discussion about.

No one, with the exception of both you and Doomguy, mentioned a dress code. It is silly, but that is why you both used the term, right?

However, if you saw someone dressed like this:

PTSC&

Would you assume this person is:

a) a lifeguard currently guarding a beach
b) an english teacher on her way to class
c) a criminal currently robbing you

Think hard, but fast, time is critical for these things.

Next test, If you saw these people:

c) policemen on duty

As much as I usually disagree with sao123, he has a point.

If I walk down a dark ally in a bad part of DC, there's a high probability of my being attacked. Is the actual attack my fault? No. Is knowingly putting myself in circumstances where an attack would be likely my fault? Yes. Ergo you could say that since the danger was avoidable and foreseen, any damage I suffered is partially my responsibility.

OK, one more quiz. If you had to guess which of these women most likely will let you pick her up at a bar and take her home and sleep with her, would it be:

a)
puritan-woman.jpg

or

b)
sexy-halloween-costumes-by-Stinkie-Pinkie.jpg

Any of those women.

Think fast, and take note you have not yet started drinking, so your judgement is not yet impared.

What these women dont realize is this kind of ad saves lives. To a statistically significant degree, educating women about the dangers of drinking to excess, and failing to maintain a buddy system, results in a change in the incidence of rape.
The message is just too important to let die by political correctness. I know of at least two women that admit to this type of thing happening. Where they were at a party and got trashed then some asshole takes advantage of them. And for both these women, it was at private parties, not even at public bars.
I agree with the current wording as well, and cannot think of how to reword it so that there is not the appearance of a shift in blame.
These womens groups dont realize that they are contributing to the victimization of women by opposing such educational messages.

They want to make sure they have a stable pay check. As long as women
are being victimized, feminists can keep their jobs at these weird feminist organizations. No more rape = no more job.

And because....
-most feminists are ugly as hell
-rape tends to happen to attractive women
-ugly women often hate attractive women
-skanks who drink until they can't stand make women look bad

Not supporting this is win win. All those attractive girls who wouldn't be your friend will drink until they get raped. Serves those bitches right. Then capitalize on it by starting a feminist organization that claims to like women but fights against anything that prevents skanks from being raped.
