P67 B3 on the way, so...................

Are you going to rebuild?

  • Heck yes, I want what I paid for!

  • Nah, if it ever goes bad, I'll replace it then...

.........are you going to rebuild?

Sure there is the principal of "I paid for a fully working board, I want a fully working board." Then there is the thought of "I have an SSD, an HDD, and an Optical and everything is doing fine in the 6.0 ports, do I really want to go through the hassel?"

Waiting for Z68 before I swap. Sandy Bridge bug is an excellent excuse to upgrade so soon. 😉

A simple MB swap you're calling a "rebuild"? 😕

Add... " I will replace" to the poll 😛

Well you have to take everything OFF...HS, CPU, GPU, Ram, take the mother board OUT of the case, what else could possibly make it NOT a rebuild? 😱

Yep. Though I don't consider swapping out a motherboard a rebuild, as it's just replacing one part. Yes, everything has to be reinserted back into the motherboard, but, that's far less time consuming than having to redo all my wires, mounting all my drives, etc, etc.

I'm using every single SATA II and SATA III port on my board, so yes, I'll replace the board as soon as I can.

When do these come out? Are they better than the X58 motherboards? I just started building a new rig, already bought the case, and am/was 5 minutes away from ordering the EVGA X58 Classified....should I hold off and wait for these new ones? Just wondering how far out they are. Thanks!

I will wait to see what Bulldozer is like. If it is a great CPU then I will get a refund for my P67 and get a h67 matx and put it in my wifes rig. Then get a bulldozer setup.

If BD sucks then I'll just get a z68 in May and get a refund on this one.

This blooper by Intel has worked out rather well for me 😛

I just removed almost everything in the case(cables, hdd, gpu... everything but the mobo and PSU) to replace the stock intel heatsink with a 212+, until I realize that I can remove the other side panel to get access to the back of the mobo

i'll probably rebuild. currently have only 2 HDDs, no DVDdrive, but planning to add more HDDs

If Z68 is actually coming out in Q2 (and has the SSD Cache), then that will fall within the extra 90 days for a refund for my original mobo given by newegg and I'll be upgrading my chipset.

Otherwise, I'll probably replace at some point in time when the craziness regarding the boards dies down. Poor mobo - it's doing such a good job.

Are we sure that the bad one's can be swapped for a Z68 board? If so, I may see if MicroCenter has any of the old ones and pick on up.

Z68 will not have SSD caching when it is released, but it will support it further down the line. It requires IRST 10.5 and a firmware update through BIOS, which VR-Zone said should be able to be applied to existing boards.

I'm going to wait and see what boards/chipsets will support Ivy Bridge, and replace with one of them, unless they are significantly more.
