i am looking to get a new board to do some overclocking with my e6300. i would really like to have a board that supports crossfire, the P5WDH seems to be the best, but will it overclock well with my 6300 given the low multi?

I been seeing people hit 450+fsb now on the P5W DH. Latest BIOS (1401) allowed for up to 550 I think. Highest I actually seen so far though is 455. Newest BIOS is 1402 I believe.

Depending on your other components (memory and cooling being critical, power next) you should see a good 430FSB for 24/7 operation on the board now.

well i have a zalman9500LED cooler, a very good PSU, my ram is some crucial rendition DDRII 533 but runs great at 925mhz 5-5-5-15 @ 2.25v. i also have 3x80mm fans cooling the memory. could prob go higher with more volts but at hose speeds i should hit a 460fsb provided the 975 will let me.

I seriously doubt the P5W-DH will let you go anywhere near 450FSB without some sort of hardware mod (or memory running slower than FSB, which is a no-no on Intel chipsets). Unless they've made a drastic change in the new BIOS (1401), the practical limit is 420~430FSB with 1:1 (FSB:Memory) As far as I know, there is no 1333FSB/1600FSB straps on P5W-DH, which means 1066FSB strap only. 420~430FSB is already quite a stress on the MCH.

Wait on the P5B-E if you are going the Asus P965 route, love the P5B-DLX but for the price I would wait. ;)

Here's the website where I saw the fsb numbers. I noticed there is a 480 on that list now. Not sure if these are stable overclocks or what. Its a German website btw.
