I've had to RMA three times now with newegg over ram for this board (two seperate ones, actually) and I'm going insane. What ram do you use that works GREAT with this board? It seems like I keep ordering crap. Please help! I'm very sick over this.

I've used and RMA'd the Plat. 800 OCZ Rev2, and now RMA'd Corsair 6400 C4 twice!

Dying or DOA chips. What should I get instead?

Did you run memtest to test the memory for errors first? This board should be able to run ram on stock settings, but some may require tweaking some bios settings, especially vdimm.

Do some research on this motherboard, as there are tonnes of information and "workarounds" for what most may deem "defective".

No, it isn't POST problems. The second corsair order that arrived today showed errors in Memtest, and the last Corsair caused random restarts with minidumps pointing towards ram. The OCZ was bad as well, not to mention not matching the timings that it advertised.

Make sure the memory is running at specified voltage; it probably needs to run at 2.1V. I've heard of some problems (though I have experienced better-than-promised performance) with OCZ Platinum DDR2-800 memory voltages and the Asus P5W-DH.

As I said above, I'm very happy with my non-revision2 OCZ 2GB(2x1GB) Platinum DDR2-800 4-5-4-15 working with my Asus P5W-DH. That memory is specified to run at 2.1V (Newegg says 4-5-4-15 timings, SPD says 5-5-5-15), but I have it running at DDR2-800 with 4-4-4-15 timings at 1.8V without any hiccups.

Yes, they were all running at 2.1 as needed-- and I know it isn't the setup because I tested all of them in two seperate mobos. Thanks for the input, though.

These are the ones I'm considering going with this time. I'll be ordering 4 gb though, so it'll be about $600 plus shipping -- are these worth it, and are they still the micron that everyone seems to like?

I havent had a problem using the Corsair PC6400C4 RAM with the P5W DH. Getting one bad set of RAM is one thing but if you are going through multiple sets then something else may be happening to cause the problem.

I'm using the CORSAIR XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 also on my P5WDH... system has been running great... I just had a problem with the board recognizing it as pc5300 (667)... just went in the bios and changed the settings for 6400 (800).. other than that, I haven't any complaints
