P5W DH Deluxe Bios 1503
Intel 6600
Corsair XMS2 pc2-6400 5-5-5-12
ATi x1900xtx
Seagate Baracuda 320gb x2
Seasonic 600w

I have a question, I can't get my second Hard drive to detect in windows. My second hard drive is also a Seagate 320 gb hd. I am not doing a raid, I just want to use it for storage. It shows up in bios but it doesn't show up in windows. Although it does show up in windows installation, both drive that is. I have the main master hd connected to the red slot sata and the slave hd connected to the black slot sata.

When I go do "My computers" => "Manage" => "Storage" => "Disk Management" it doesn't show up at all, to let me assign a drive letter to it, so I can format it. I'm not exactly sure what to do.

Also another problem I have is hanging, the computer hangs when I work in programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, I can't open multiple programs and multitask, or else the program crashes. Sometimes I have to close a folder, or close my winamp or close firefox, to remove the hang or crash problem. I can only use 1 program at a time, I can't open multiple programs, this problem only occurs after 2 or 3 hours, and my bios is set to default. My computer is acting like a celeron cpu. I'm not sure if I'm the only one encountering this weird hang problem.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I fixed the secondary hard drive problem. I just plug my second hard drive into the J-Micron sata behind the cpu. When I loaded up windows it automatically recognized my second hard drive and I was able to format it. I find it pretty weird that I couldn't format it before when I plug it into the intel black sata. Maybe it was because I didn't install intel's F6 storage and skip it. I'll let you guys know later if I still have the hang problems, that is a concern to me...

You need to download and install Microsoft's dual-core hotfix for Windows. Most of the people who've reported that same problem with their C2D's have said that the hotfix solved their multitasking problem.
