hi to all on th anandtech forums 
I've recently ordered a 64mb pc-133 cas3 stick of ram for a friend of mine. I went over there to install it this afternoon after school and it only picked up 16MB of ram. This is a *really* old board, as it only had 1 dimm slot and 4 edo, my question is, what's wrong with it?
I've thought about it and come up with the following explainations:
1/ Buggered ram (not likely IMHO, it most likely would have not started at all)
2/ Motherboard not supporting any more than 16MB dimms
3/ damn stupid memory of mine
i've yet to try the ram in my machine to see if the ram itself's screwed, but i'll try that tonight.
if someone can point me in the direction of a P5VA (i havent heard of it before) BIOS update, if that will fix my problem, then many thanks I haven't got a brand name, stupid damn package computers...
