hi ,i have p5ql pro mobo ,was working with 3x1 gb ddr2 rams here is the list of them- one is dynet 667mhz cas-5 latency
second ram -kinlstuo cas-5 ,third ram- 800mhz kingston cas-6 ..forgot in what slots they were working..
now i bought a new ram kingston - smaller in size other than above 3 of them... its 800mhz cas-6
i removed the old dynet and somehow i am working with this configuration now-- yellow a1 slot - new ram 800mhz cas-6
yellow b1 slot - empty , balck a2 slot- cas-6 kingston 800mhz , black b2 slot cas-5 kinsltuo 800mhz
when i try to put dynet 667 cas-5 in yellow b1 ,i dont get post, the fans run but nothing on the screen, the monitor doesnt turn on..
i dont overclock anything, everything is in auto now,how can i use all 4 slots, hope some explanations and guides, thanks

but all the ram when single post on with in any slot.

cpu is e5200 ,windows 7 professional 32 bit ,but still want to see my 4 slots filled :)

Were you running at 800mhz before? Was the 667 stick running at 800mhz?

I have faced a similar situation before, where mixing and matching RAM with different speeds and CAS resulted in the last 512 MB unavailable in Windows, showing up as "hardware reserved".

Have you tried manually setting your 800 MHz sticks to 667 MHz CAS 5 and then installing the 667 MHz stick?

You need to note down the timings of the 667 MHz stick and match the CAS and other timings of the 800 MHz stick with it.

the 667 stick showed 5 5 5 15 20 ,so should i put these values in bios and then insert the 667 and try?

Try setting the FSB to 200 and the DRAM to 667 first.

Swap the 667 stick and one of the 800 sticks around.

It sounds like the 667 and one of 800's don't get along.

this configuration now-- yellow a1 slot - new ram 800mhz cas-6
yellow b1 slot - empty , balck a2 slot- cas-6 kingston 800mhz , black b2 slot cas-5 kinsltuo 800mhz
when i try to put dynet 667 cas-5 in yellow b1 ,i dont get post, the fans run but nothing on the screen, the monitor doesnt turn on.. this is the same setup i have now,.. so i will try swapping ...yellow a1 and black a2 ,will tell you now..anything about the timings ? would work if in case ??

cool it did work now,i tried many until i put the old 667mhz in A1 -- boom,it got post 4GB ,i was so happy to see it,ok now my configuration--
A1 YELLOW - DYNET OLD CAS-5
A2-BLACK KINLSTUO CAS-5
B1- YELLOW KINGSTON CAS-6
B2- BLACK KINGSTON new(short one) CAS-6
anyhow i am using win7 professional 32 bit ,showing 4gb memory 3.5 usable..i am good with it :)satisfied now.
again i would like to know whether i have seen my cas latency of my rams correct.. how to know its correct, thanks for your help

That doesn't sound too hot for a NB chip.

The DRAM timing numbers are going to vary somewhat.

CPU-Z will give you the numbers for each stick.

I wouldn't be too concerned as long as it's working okay.
