I just assembled the following system:
Asus P180
Corsair 620W PSU
Q6600
Tuniq Tower 120
Asus P5K Premium
4x2GB Patriot PC6400 RAM
Evga 8800Ultra
4x750GB Seagate SATA drives
PX760A DVD Burner

On first power up I'm getting a continuous tone and nothing else. Not beeping, but a continuous, never ending tone.

I've tried placing a single stick of memory in slot A1 and also tried removing BIOS battery for several minutes / setting the jumper to the "clear" position.

Both 24-pin and 6-pin power connectors are attached. 6-pin PCIE cable from PSU is attached to graphics card.

Any suggestions? This is the first system I've tried to assemble so please be kind.

Thanks.

Reinstall your memory and video card, don't have any hard drives/burners/etc hooked up, just the bare minimums.

edit: yeah, what he said ^ :)

Welcome to the Forums :)

You might want to remove the motherboard from the case and lay it on cardboard for a bare-bones test. Give it just the one memory module, the video card, CPU and heatsink. No keyboard, no mouse, no drives, no extra case wiring except the power-button wire, no add-in cards. If it doesn't work like that, then at least you've ruled out lots of variables such as a short-circuit between the motherboard & case.

Any good?
