P5B Memory Question

If you want stock speed, then why do you 2x1GB DDR2-1000 memory? Best value and fastest performance would be to get 2x1GB DDR2-800. DDR2-1000 is unnecessary, unless you are overclocking, because DDR2-800 is the fastest that the 965/975 chipsets support at stock speeds. 2GB is also the sweet spot for maximum performance in WindowsXP. Games like BattleField2 love to play with 2GB of RAM.

This is the memory that I would recommend:
$210 - OCZ Platinum 2GB(2x1GB) DDR2-800 CAS4

I went with the Mushkin Redline DDR2 1000 for the P5B Deluxe...

Nice review on Newegg regarding OC results on the P5B Deluxe...hope my results are even close to the reviewers...still waiting on my E6600 (like most everybody else)...

" Overclocks like a beast.

Pros: I have a E6600 and this board overclocks like a beast. I have it running at 3.4Ghz with no issues of any kind.

Cons: No dual card solution but hey who needs it when you buy the best single card solution.

Other Thoughts: I seem to have an issue with my 300gb Seagate running on the intel controller but it works fine on the other one.
