Something happened and I can't get into motherboard bios anymore. When I boot I see a blank screen with a cursor blinking, then the JMicron message showing me my IDE DVD drive and then it says "press any key to continue" , the name of the IDE device keeps blinking in blue in the meantime.
I can't get into bios by pressing delete during these processes.
I unplugged the dvd drive as well, did not help.
What do I do?
Any help appreciated.

have you tried resetting the CMOS? Take out the backup battery on your mobo and wait for couple of minutes before putting it back in. That may help solve the problem. You can also use the reset jumper if you want.

I will try that tonight. Could my power supply be causing my problems? I've got a cheap Allied 550W power supply that i grabbed from my old system. I'm waiting on a good price for the Corsair 520W.

I also have a memory problem. I've RMA'd the sticks. I've got another thread for that.

I had not built a system for about 3 years, and it's very frustrating to see how "plug and play" turned into "plug and pray" since then.

I followed the instructions on the booklet to clear cmos. now it's worse. I can't even get past the jmicron screen.
i see no asus splash screen. cannot get into bios by clicking "delete" and cannot go into windows.
It's just stuck at the jmicron screen.
