You can't change the amount of RAM recognized by the BIOS. I'm not sure what you mean by "change the memory remap," but that could just be my own ignorance of a feature of the board.

Do your new RAM sticks match the same speed and timing specs as your original RAM? If not, that could cause your problem.

Did you check Asus' list of qualified RAM for your board? If not, check the QVL tab on the spec page for your board.

And before you go to all that work, test your new RAM to make sure it works in your board by removing your original RAM trying to boot up with just the two new sticks.

Hope that helps. :)

If you just bought them, they probably aren't from the same manufacturing lot. Try testing the new sticks by themselves to make sure the board works with them. If they don't work, and the old ones do, you've all the proof you need to return them as defective.

You probably have already tried removing the new sticks and simply re-inserting them, but if you haven't, give it a try.

You didn't tell us the make and model of your RAM, but do check it against Asus' list of qualified RAM. It could be that a non-qualified model may work with a couple of sticks, but it won't work with four.
