I have my P-160 (dual USB 2.0) connected to my motherboard's USB pinout. When I plug my thumbdrive in, it says "this device can run faster" etc. I have USB 2.0 enabled in the BIOS but still I get 1.1 speeds. Any suggestions?

hey seems like we have a similiar problem! which is not so coincendental since we basically have the same setup.

I plugged in a USB thumb drive the other night to transfer stuff and it took forever and I got that same message. I am not sure if it the case wires, MoBo or what.

Does your USB work at full speed if you plug it into the back?

That I don't know... I was just trying to grab a file real quick. I will test that tonight and let you know.

If it works in the back and not from the motherboard header, check to see how many pins are going to the motherboard header.

Many motherboard headers had 9 pins, but if the devices plugged in there use all 9 pins usb 2.0 will mess up with over a 128 MB flash drive.

This is a common problem for many front usb connections. The solution is to cut the extra 9th wire. Successfully used on a MSI 845 board with a Coolermaster case.

I know this has worked on Antec cases, but I don't know if the P-160 is one of them. Please verify here if it is.

The P-160 works fine. I double-checked my BIOS and it wasn't set to 2.0. So I set it to 2.0 and started windows and PRESTO! My motherboard header is 9 pins and it works fine with my 256 MB drive.
