There seem to be lots of conflicting reports on the P5A and K6+ cpus. Some say the newest BIOS works with them (such as the Anandtech article claims) and others say they won't work at all no matter what BIOS you use. I noticed that even the sites (such as Anandtech and Ace's Hardware) which say that they work together dont' use them in testing, they seem to always use some other mobo for the reviews/tests. Anybody know what the deal is with this? Anybody got a solution?

No question - they work great with the latest beta BIOS. I'm typing this on K6-III+ 450 @ 550 on P5A (don't ask why when I have a 1GHz T-Bird downstairs - lazy I guess).

i'm on a p5a with k6-2 400mhz running rock solid. It's not oc'ed, but that's because the chip isn't really friendly to that, not the board.

so yeah. go for it... smoke em' if you got em! heh

Go to AMD ZONE FORUMS they have everything there you will need to know to get it up and running.

Rats. My P5A is revision 1.06. Won't work with "+" processors. Anyone know what the source of this problem is?

Just found a great article abou this on Sooper 7's website. Check it out for good info on P5A/K6+ compatability.

Unfortunately the mystery remains unsolved. Anyone know why revision 1.04 and above won't work w/"+" processors at all while 1.03 and below seem to work flawlessly with them?
