I understand that having 2 PCIe x16 cards will cut the speed down to x8 each, but if you have one x16 and one x1 in does it also reduce the x16 by half?

I'm looking on getting a TV Tuner card and just wondering about this.

Thanks

According to here: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuch...ts/showdoc.aspx?i=3634

The x1 slots are independently managed from the CPU/PCI Express Controller. Those ones are actually managed by the P55 Express chipset. I'd say no.. you'll be able to run a 16x GPU at full speed while running a x1 card in a "x1 slot".. as long as you don't shove a x1 card in one of those 16x PCI-E slots.

Thanks, I read that article but now it see that it was described in the diagram, and I never look at those.
