P4T533-C Probs in W2K install - L1Cache!?

I am installing window2k on this motherboard, and kept getting errors. A Bluescreen that says ntkrnlmp is bad. Upon checking the error code at microsoft.com, it recommended disabling the L1 and L2 cache. I did that, and 2k installed (took 5 hrs instead of 1 hr). Switched L2 caching back on, and it booted. Switched L1 caching on and it freezes. What gives?
Here is the hardware list:

Asus P4T533-C
Intel P4 2.4 512k 533bus
Kingston 1066 RDRAM 256MB x 2 installed as mb manual recommends
Quaddro 4 550 XGL 64MB AGP4x
Maxtor 4 GB boot drive - into ATA100 mb channel
WD 80GB hard drive - into ATA133 PCI
Mitsumi 40x12x40x CDRW - into ATA133 PCI
Pioneer 16x DVDrom - into mb ATA33
Maxtor ATA133 controller PCI
Antec SX830 with stock 300W power

Thanks for the help
