has anybody used p4s 533 with p4 1.6a?
tell your experiences.
is it better than p4b 266(also having 133 fsb compared to p4b 266)?

The Asus P4S533 SiS 645DX DDR333 ATA133 is on backorder at Tuffshop.com, with a May 5 ETA and at Spartantech.com also on backorder with an April 30 ETA. Both are listed at $115, retail.

This chipset is what I've been waiting for so I can finally jump on the Northwood bandwagon 🙂 However, I'm hoping to get the MSI version and save a couple of $

it's on backorder cause they just officaly announced it!not up to full production yet.they are filling oem orders first as is norm.i want 1 bad 2 am IPD and that don't cut nothing over oem's.where's my anxiety pills??

the PDF manual for the P4S533 is now available for download from the Asus websites.

it DOES have ATA133, but besides that, looks identicle. (except for the bios changes)

Have you cleared the CMOS using the MB jumper after re-flashing?

Somewhere (?) I read that this is neccessary for any bios beyond 1003.
(It was OFFICIAL asus verbage, and they cited IDE non-usability)

Where'd you find the 533:1006 beta?
I found the link on the asus download pages..go beta,
but the link was no good.

All attempts to ftp into usa,tw, and de sites came up dry.

I'll take your work that they suck, but enquiring minds want to know:
How So ?


Have you (or anyone else listening) played with Q-fan?

Changing the init file in PCProbe fixes the sensor swap, but I
imagine it'll take someone clever to reverse engineer the bios
to swap the sensor addresses so qfan works right.
(unless the swap is actually a flaw that'll be fixed in a future bios)

i got them both from the Asus website. took awhile, had to keep tryin all day.

the P4S333 1006.001 beta bios was for some reason slower in all gaming benches.
i have to clear the cmos to get my ide2 back after flashing - yes.

the P4S533 1007.002 beta bios was crashing my system right away.

no new performance options in either of them.
