My P4P800D has served me well the time has come (unfortunately) for me to purchase a new MB. However I do not have the $$ to upgrade all components to PIC Express.

I have not been following the recent MB trends therefore I am in need of recommendations for a 478 Intel MB that hopefully that can exceed the P4P800D performance.

"recent motherboard trends" are to get you into a different socket. 478 is dead.

Of course, my main rig is still 478...

Why do you want to replace it?

Personally, I love the Intel 865PE chipset. I've gotten great overclocks on it. I have the P4P800-SE, but I'd recommend the Asus P4P800-E Deluxe for udma 133 and more connectors.
