P4P800 problem, temps are higher than the cpu temps , odd

Hi

guys Im building a rig for a friend (p4p800 with 2.4C) and I ran into some problems, my board temps are higher than the cpu temps at idle and normal use (the only case when the cpu is higher is when prime is running)
is this real or the sensors are wrong ? board is usually around 39-40deg C and the cpu ranges from 30 to 43 under load (p4c 2.4 at 2.75 with the stock cooler)

mbm5 uses sensors : winbond1 for the case and winbond 2 diode for the cpu

please let me know what you think

Thank you
Dan

Well I love the probe but at times it can be a bit confusing. For example, normally my comp runs at about 30c, whereas right now the probe tells me it's only running at 20c. I mean I'm not complaining about a low temp, but that's a bit unusual.

using mbm5 (see post1)

The P4P800 & P4P800-D under report the CPU temp by about 8°C. They also show the board temp higher than normal (supposedly the board sensor is in a warm spot on the board that doesn't get much airflow). There's several threads about this over at OC-forums from back when these boards came out.

Yep, do know after running folding@home or gaming (wahetever memory bandwidth intensive application) my NB is proably around 50-60C just by touch after booting down(enough to burn me 😀). i'm gunna add a fan to my NB soon. And yes the NB tmp sometimes gets higher then the CPU temp. But my CPU is between 31C idle - 52C (max) load, avg 47C w/ load.

so I should add 8 to the CPU and substract 4-5 from the mobo ? 🙂

Thanks
Dan
