P4C800 DELUXE NOT HITTING BEYOND 250FSB.

P4 2.4C w/ Vantec Aero Flow & Artic Silver 3
P4C800 Deluxe with slot A fan on the Chipset
ATI 9700 Pro
Kingston HyperX PC3200 512mb Dual channel
Vcore 1.7
VDimm 2.75
VAGP 1.5

My problem is that no matter if PAT or Performance Mode is on or off, AGP locked to 66/33 more or less I cannot get my system to stablize beyond 250FSB. I've also tried increasing all the voltages i've listed above but it didn't do any good. My system is capable to boot up around 270~275 FSB and loads windows but i just can't get it stable! HELP!!!

what ratio are you using? 1:1, 5:4, 3:2?

theres a choice to do 266/320/400, i have it on 320. But i did try to put it on 266 but once i hit over 250fsb my system crashes after a little while after windows boots up.

PC3200 = DDR400.

try the 400

200fsb/400mhz = 2.4ghz/400ddr
250fsb/320mhz = 3.0ghz/400ddr

so if i set it on 400 then i will not be able to boot anywhere beyond the stock speed.
I've read p4c800 deluxe review and some do claim that for some weird reason this board locks at 250fsb while p4p800 deluxe were able to hit 300fsb with proper equipment.

This is pissing me off.

I got rid of my HyperX 3500, I couldn't OC a single thing on 1:1 ratio

250fsb is nothing to be complaining about, be grateful you got that high.

I'm having the same prob here!!

Rig:
Asus P4c800dl with a P4 2,8c + 2x 512MB Kingston Hyper-X PC3500 on it.

The prob is I can't get it over 250fsb. So I can 'only' hit 3500mhz and then my ram works @ DDR400 (5:4 devider; 320 setting in bios).
If I set the 1:1 devider and even add 1mhz to my fsb the sys won't boot! While my ram is PC3500 it shouldn't be the problem.
This really annoys me cause I want to use the 1:1 devider and let my ram run @ DDR470 (at least) with would give me a cpuspeed of 3300mhz. But that's probably a faster setup then when I run my cpu @ 3,5ghz and my ram @ 400mhz.

My biggest question is, how can I get my ram to run faster? (using 1:1 devider)

what's ur voltage on the rams? you should try 2.85 for Vdimm. Then you might be able to run 1:1 ratio.

edit: did you relax your timing a little bit? Personally, i think the mobo, P4C800 deluxe, doesn't tolerate high speed rams very well. I think this way because every time when i try to go over 400mhz ddr speed my system becomes really unstable. And PC3200 should be able to hit 400~420 so i am blaming all of this overclocking problems to the board and not the chip or the ram.

I allready increased it to 2.75V but that didn't do the job. I'll try 2.85V asap and report back.

Have been doing some testing but couldn't get it beyond the 250 boundry.
Could get me cpu/ram run 1:1 @ FSB 225. Giving me 3150mhz but since my ram is running DDR450 instead of DDR400 the total rig is allot faster!! (burning dvds doesn't go any faster though! )

When running like this I could add about 3000 3Dmarks (2001) to my highscore.

I run my AGP/PCI bus in 66/33 modus and my RAM gets 2.85V while it's set to DDR400 in the bios. (FSB = 225 which means it runs @ DDR450)
Kingston advices to run Hyper-X PC3500 in 2-3-3-7 so I listened to them. All other settings that I did not mention are set to it's max.

both of you might wanna read the "kingston hyper X 2.6v chips suck" thread. Check under your heatspreader find out if ur default vdimm is 2.6 or 2.5, if its 2.6 i would suggest some new ram because those chips dont tend to OC so well, in fact they dont even do so well at stock,

You've reached your CPU's limit I would guess. What you need is better cooling if you want more but keep in mind overclocking is not guaranteed. Just to add this... I have a 2.6C and a 2.4C and 2.4C blows the 2.6C out of the water.
