P4B533 - What now?

I've got the P4B533, and in the BIOS it only supports up to 220FSB. I think I would be able to run a P4C with HT and 800Mhz FSB on it, but I want to be able to overclock it as well. Overclocking the FSB from 200-220 isn't all that great.

Does anyone know if there will be lower end P4's with 533 bus and HT? Is there a way to get over 220 FSB on the P4B533?

mines at 220 now, it will go to 225 but any higher and the board freezes in the bios. get a 2.6c / 800 cpu - reasonable o/c still available

Looks like I might have to wait for the 3Ghz 533 with HT before I can upgrade. That way, I can probably overclock it to 3.4-3.6.

I wanna wait because it's still too expensive for the 3ghz 533 HT. I was hoping there would be 2.4's with 533 and HT, so that I can pick one of these up for $200 US and overclock it to 3.4-3.6.

Mingon am I reading your post correctly that you are running a 2.6 800Mz Bus chip. You suggest the chip but I am unclear if you are using one. I am running a 2.0 NW @ 2.8 and I was just sitting here a little twitchy with a few dollars in my pocket thinking about upgrading my chip soon for what reason I have no idea but what the hey faster is better right.

Yummy. Is HT enabled too? Did you need a new bios for that? I can't wait till the prices drop, so I can upgrade too. It probably won't be a while though, since Intel won't have much to release after the 3.2 until prescot comes out.

Intel, release a 2.4 with 533 bus and HT!

What wrong with you guyz. the pentium 4 2.4c 800fsb with hyperthreading at newegg for $180. Go buy a new mobo and a new chip and stop waiting.

Thanks Mr. Money Bags. I want to pay $200 for one chip so I can get into the 3.5ghz range with HT.

Besides, If I got a new mobo, I would have to buy new ram as well, since I would want to overclock my ram past 400mhz.
