P4B266 Bios problem?

Insstalled this mobo in a new system build and was trying to make a copy of the current bios version. Am unable to get to a dos prompt though to do it. keep getting "insert valid system disc and hit any key to continue" message. installing winxp, so I don't have any start up discs for that, other than the cd. Anyone help with this? Can't make the bootable disc to run aflash.exe with, etc.
also noticed that as system starts, prior to winxp starting, it reads "the bios is disabled." I do have a raid card in a pci slot,, so not sure if this statement refers to the controller card bios or the system bios. anyway can't get to a dos prompt. Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Did you do the following?:

insert floppy, rightclick on floppy drive in "My Computer" and select "format". When the menu pops up, check off "Create a MS-DOS startup disk".

Also, in the BIOS, do you have floppy drive selected as a bootable device?

One other thing, make sure your flashing with the correct bios. There are different version of the P4B266, all ending in different letters.

Thanks ...
new os...newb......😱
got it all done now.
got all the correct bios files specific to my version of p4266......at least I knew that much.
just couldn't get the dos stuff to run. but made the bootable disc as you showed and then it was no problem.......well almost no problem. Couldn't copy the aflash file as instructed by the asus owners guide, but did it another way.
Thanks again.
