It doesnt officialy support 533 cpu BUT it will run them just fine. I had a p4b266-c with a 1.6 @ 2.1 a while back & it ran fine at 533.

essentially A chips and B chips are the same.

the p4b266 does have a few quirks to live with tho....
cas settings do not work past 290ddr~
agp lock is strangely called "turbo mode"~
3:4 memory ratio doesnt work past 132fsb, but there is a trick to get around that~

besides that, yes it is a good overclocking board :)

if youre looking for a better cheap 845 alternative, i would suggest a Asus P4B533 or a Abit BH7.

HTH :)

I have a P4b266 and a P4 2.4b that was bought from a trader that said it would do 3.1ghz at default and no matter how much voltage I throw at it it won't go past 2779mhz in my P4G8X. I know it's not the RAM, I have it in my P4P800 right now doing 400mhz @2.5-3-3-7 no problem ;) I think I will try the chip in the P4B266 and see what I get there.

You forgot about USB ports not working when overclocked. ;) It had its fair share of quirks.

That's why I had to use the plug in USB module and not the built in ports :light: Ill keep ya informed. I'm pretty sure I got a chip that was not what it was advertised as;)
